These Terms explain the rules for using Clever Pomelo, including acceptable use, AI features, child accounts, subscriptions, cancellation, and refunds.
Last updated: 20 May 2026
By creating an account, using the service, starting a subscription, buying extra usage, or creating a child account, you agree to these Terms. If you use the service for a child, family, school, company, or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to do so.
The Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled. These Terms form the service contract; the Privacy Policy is a notice about data use and rights.
Clever Pomelo provides guided homework support, AI tutor conversations, upload and parsing tools, practice generation, parent controls, solution-request controls, and related account, billing, support, and safety features.
We may change, suspend, improve, limit, or discontinue features when needed for safety, security, reliability, legal compliance, product improvement, or commercial reasons. We aim to give reasonable notice for material changes that affect paid access, and any mandatory consumer remedies still apply.
You must provide accurate account information, keep login details secure, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity under your account except where caused by our breach of these Terms or applicable law.
Direct student signup requires the student to confirm they are at least 13. Students under 13 must use a parent-managed child account created by a parent or guardian. Parents and guardians are responsible for child-account setup, permissions, supervision, and consent where required.
Schools, companies, tutors, and other organisations may need a separate written agreement, order form, or Data Processing Agreement. If a separate written agreement conflicts with these Terms, the written agreement controls for that organisational use.
You must not use the service for illegal activity, fraud, sanctions violations, harassment, threats, hate, sexual content involving minors, exploitation, self-harm encouragement, malware, credential abuse, security probing, scraping, reverse engineering, excessive automated use, or attempts to bypass safety, billing, parent, or access controls.
You must not upload or share content that violates someone else's rights, contains unnecessary sensitive personal information, is not yours to use, or is intended to harm the service or another person. You must not misrepresent AI outputs as verified professional, legal, medical, financial, or educational decisions.
We may remove content, limit features, suspend accounts, block access, or contact account holders where we reasonably believe this policy has been breached or a safety, legal, security, payment, or child-protection risk exists.
AI features may analyse prompts, homework text, uploaded files, conversation context, parent settings, and learning signals to produce tutor replies, parse homework, create practice, summarise progress, or recommend whether a full solution should be shown.
AI outputs can be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, unsafe if used without judgment, or inappropriate for a specific class, exam board, assignment, age, or learning need. Users, parents, teachers, and account holders must review important outputs before relying on them.
The service is not professional advice, a substitute for a teacher, a substitute for parental supervision, an emergency service, or a guaranteed route to grades or outcomes. Do not use it for legal, medical, financial, safeguarding, or emergency decisions.
We may use third-party AI providers to process inputs and files for the requested feature, safety, reliability, debugging, and abuse prevention. Personal data handling is described in the Privacy Policy.
You keep ownership of homework, prompts, uploads, messages, answers, parent notes, and other content you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, copy, transmit, process, transform, display, and use that content as needed to provide, secure, support, improve, and enforce the service.
The service, software, design, models, prompts, workflows, brand assets, documentation, and platform content belong to us or our licensors. Feedback may be used without restriction or compensation unless we separately agree otherwise.
For free account use, these Terms govern your use of the platform generally. If you buy a paid plan, extra usage, or another paid feature, your paid contract is with the billing provider shown before payment and on your invoice or receipt.
The billing provider may be different from the public brand or website you used to create your account. The provider is determined by the applicable billing route, market, payment method, and checkout flow.

Paid plans, extra usage, prices, currencies, tax, billing periods, renewal dates, included usage, trial details, and payment provider terms are shown at checkout, in the billing area, or in the app-store flow before purchase. By continuing with payment, you confirm the provider, price, renewal, cancellation, refund, and invoice terms shown before payment. You authorise recurring charges for subscriptions until cancelled.
Stripe, Apple, app stores, banks, card networks, tax providers, or other payment processors may handle payment details, receipts, failed-payment recovery, invoices, subscription management, taxes, refunds, chargebacks, and fraud checks. Their terms may also apply.
If payment fails, access may be paused, downgraded, limited, or ended after reasonable retry, notice, or grace-period steps where required. Taxes may be added or adjusted based on billing location, law, payment provider rules, or invoice details.
You can cancel a Stripe-managed subscription from the billing page or Stripe billing portal. Apple or app-store subscriptions must usually be cancelled through the relevant Apple or app-store account, and refund requests for Apple or app-store purchases may need to be handled through Apple or the relevant app store.
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription managed by Stripe, Apple, an app store, bank, or another payment provider. You must cancel through the billing page, Stripe billing portal, Apple account, app-store account, or relevant payment provider.
Unless the checkout page, app-store terms, or applicable law says otherwise, cancellation stops the next renewal and paid access continues until the end of the current paid period. One-time extra usage purchases may expire, be consumed, or remain available as described at purchase.
Refunds are not automatic unless required by applicable law, stated at checkout, required by the payment provider, or approved by us. If any usage occurs after a purchase or renewal, that purchase or renewal is not refundable, except where law gives you a non-waivable right. We may consider refunds case by case, including for duplicate charges, billing errors, accidental renewals, serious service failure, or exceptional circumstances.
If you are a UK consumer, you may have a legal right to cancel certain online purchases within 14 days.
Because Clever Pomelo is a digital service that can start immediately after purchase, we may ask you during checkout to request immediate access and acknowledge that your cancellation rights may be affected once the service begins. If you give that request and acknowledgement, and we begin providing the digital service, you may lose the right to cancel and receive a refund for that purchase, except where the service is faulty, not as described, unavailable, or where the law gives you a non-waivable right.
If you are an EU consumer, you may have a legal right to withdraw from certain online purchases within 14 days.
Because Clever Pomelo is a digital service that can start immediately after purchase, we may ask you during checkout to request immediate access and acknowledge that your withdrawal right may be affected once the service begins. If you give that request and acknowledgement, and we begin providing the digital service, you may lose the right to withdraw and receive a refund for that purchase, except where the service is faulty, not as described, unavailable, or where the law gives you a non-waivable right.
For US users, subscription terms, renewal frequency, price, cancellation method, trial terms, and any material limits will be shown before purchase. By starting a paid subscription, you authorise recurring charges until you cancel.
You can cancel future renewals through the billing page, Stripe billing portal, Apple account, app-store account, or other payment provider used for the purchase. Unless required by applicable law, stated at checkout, required by the payment provider, or approved by us, payments are not automatically refundable after access has started or usage has occurred.
You may stop using the service at any time and may request account deletion through the account area or support channel. We may suspend or terminate access where needed for non-payment, security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, child safety, harmful content, rights violations, or material breach of these Terms.
After termination, some records may be retained where needed for billing, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, safety, dispute resolution, legal compliance, backups, or legitimate operational records, as described in the Privacy Policy.
We aim to provide a careful and useful service, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every threat, compatible with every device, or that AI output will be accurate, complete, current, or suitable for every student.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or mandatory consumer rights.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary losses, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of goodwill, loss of data, educational outcomes, or reliance on unreviewed AI output.
For paid consumer accounts, our total liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the amount paid for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, unless a different mandatory consumer rule applies. For free accounts, liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
These Terms are governed by the law stated in any written order form or organisation agreement. If there is no separate written agreement, free account use is governed by the law of the operator responsible for the service. Paid purchases are governed by the law of the billing provider shown before payment and on your invoice, subject to any mandatory consumer protections in the user's country, state, or place of residence.
Consumers in the UK, EU, Hungary, and the United States may have mandatory rights that apply regardless of the governing-law clause. Business customers must raise disputes first through the account or support contact unless urgent legal relief is required.
We may update these Terms when the service, law, providers, pricing, or safety requirements change. Material changes will be notified where reasonable. Where required, we may ask for fresh acceptance; otherwise, continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms to the extent allowed by law.
